Insect
Kenny Kaiser, Dave Arnson and Kenne
at the Insect Surfer's show at Cuisine en Locale

Taber Ave please inform Ken Kaiser I HAVE found 39! noted Kinks fan, Tom Taber, descends from south kingston, RI, as do I; there is a TABER AVENUE! It's west of the Amtrak station Donna 'Milk of Amnesia' Lethal and i went to for a 1985 Plan 9 party, which means Ken Kaiser in '84, sooooo close, yet soooo far! URI is due east and due south is the haunted Great Swamp plus also where my Tefft relatives were beheaded and/or drawn/quartered King Phillip's Bar....300 years later me and ole Tom Taber PEACEFULLY swapping records in western NY......

but wait! there's Moore!..

I subjected Gee Julie to Gun Talk, i think it's called, WRKO, sundays 8-10 pm; caller: "hah, ah'm from kaintucky" and Julie mimicking the Southerners mimicking me (like "oil" as "oll"); as is, our lad from his ole Kentucky home had a lady friend from South Africa whom had lost a bolt in some "rah-full" (rifle) and wuz lookin' for a new spring, "caint git it hee-ere"; our host then talked about "packin' heat" and "ah live down south" and the effects of sweat and rust on your pistol! that and the big biker rumble in Waco, Texas and then Coast to Coast with UFO talk; the ONLY way to spend a Sunday evening eatin' Gee Julie's homemade pizza (as she sez, Ma Kettle-ishly, "kissin' wears out! cookin' don't!" Me: "ah guess ah gotta go fix that one-a these days"...My stepfather wanted to BAN me from watchin' ma and pa kettle coz Percy Kilbride portrayed a lazy sod! as if the damn hippies weren't enuff...though by early 1970, i wuz wearin' a Canadian aunt's dead husband's derby and with my curly hair, a-thinkin' ah were Arlo Guthrie! "Ken and Dave had a con-test"...."at alice's restaurant!".....

"I am facebook friends with the Humans nephew; that's the dude did harp solo on "warning" on audition records. his uncle died 12 sept 66; i last saw my father before 'Nam 9 sept 66. buried in Mount Albion cemetery, albion NY, which I WAS at in '13! ("winner by elimination"'s folks buried there). also buried there: dad of the guy that turnt me ONTO the Humans plus a bevy of Blodgett kin, one is Ma's uncle walter blodgett; go on find a grave, see photos of the grave by my 2nd cuzzin Rochester, NY historian JARE CARDINAL! (she was a blodgett, married a cardinal and all this is for the Byrds!) (and call george noory;"there are no coincidences!)....

Mailer as a birthday present Gee Julie gave me Norman Mailer's Armies of the Knight; did some research; I DID read executioner's "looking through gary gilmore's eyes" and saw the movie where he challenged somebody to a boxing match at harvard film archive; THINK he was scheduled, but "was sick" "and then he died" as the Blodgetts all say. march on pentagon, the fall after my dad died and bader-meinhold just startin' up in deutschland; I like how Mailer seems to always be DRUNK! Le Sotte, but endearing...more book report as i read on MTA..

more dead people BUT this IS garage rock! The Humans, harp solo on "warning", his Long line (name is LONG) goes back to the Mary and John which Johnny Jumper Cable also has, THEN "early founders of Hartford Ct.", then Canada, then western NY. the Humans' nephew is a collector and a Kenne fan, and also my friend for 300-odd years! No Humans, No Gizmos, read Rock On #7!....

Tuesday May 19, 2015

right-wing guy on WRKO interviews the bikers that rumbled in WACO! george noory and coast to coast and the CIA is behind all the UFOs! norman mailer book: he was once so drunk, he wanted to fight Sonny Liston! (respecting mailer more and more for his MENTALNESS!!) and this is Ken Coughlin, News of the Wierd"....

Wednesday May 20, 2015

on WJIB: simon and garfunkel's "dangling conversation", which gets a LOT of airplay for an album cut; "you read your emily dickenson, and i my robert frost"; age 13, 1969, that was my DREAM gurl! (Ma was in the library club; could that be O.Rex?) still nice to hear though later that year Frank Zappa and the Mothers blew my mind with we're only in for the money and i started writing "proto-Gizmos" lyrics... another Tomorrow's Dream; 0100, george noory and coast to coast "why people wear black"; check out facebook coast to coast page!

readin' Norman Mailer ("Maxwell taylor'ed; same gizmo and garfunkel album!), chapter on The Liberal Party. let me classify Mailer as "proto-punk" coz he hated hippies and LSD and only went to liberal college professor's parties for the booze and the wimmen! why, he's almost Mark Giroux-approved! (and still researching how Mark Darling Giroux's DARLING ancestors got to Pawtucket, RI; mine were in Kenton, Delaware, population 236!)".....

Leonard Cua - Ayan and the Myopics; Filipino garage-rock! another Mad Max in the making? Gizmos in manila? y'all check 'em out!"

Insect Surfers
Dave Arnson and Kenne
Photo: by Gee Julie
Hello World! a great night of surf music at Cuisine en Locale, what usedta be Anthony's function room where i saw RAI music c/o WZBC. SPF4 opened up, more surf than garage with garage solos; I REALLY liked them, they ARE Boston! Tsunami of Sound as a trio in red coats plus flaming lamps and the Munsters theme and dating game theme; Gee Julie, dancing with Dave Arnson, REALLY liked them, so see them more! Insect Surfers: BEST lineup ever, Dave Arnson reminiscin' on early '80s "Dead Boston Clubs", and he had original drummer Dan Bucchino on board! David is a Virgo and a Quicksilver Happy Trails album fan and THAT crossed with Television is what I heard in the double guitars; psychedelic surf! I bought the cd with "DelMarVa" as my dad had roots there, and Dave dedicated this Link Wray sounding instrumental to a man whom lived in Accockeek, Md.! (Link on Polydor!) encore: Link's "jack the ripper" with that lick the Cramps stole! 9th Wave traveled from Ct., the Korps was there, Clark Dark and many more! support Boston's ever-dwindling surf scene and go to a Rick Sanger show!.

call me a scoopie BUT: TT the Bear's AND wierdo records are closing! it wasnt that way when my great-great-grandmother Highland's ancestor William Spencer was the third person to sign Cambridge papers in 1633 or sumpin' like that...town's been goin' to shit since they left with reverend hooker to found Hartford Ct.!....

I believe in reincarnation! find-a-grave has Miss Lyn's "indian grandmother"'s parents and grandparents listed. Pre-Beatles, I was a Civil War GEEK! ok, so Ken Highland becomes Ken Burns, Miss Lyn's great-grandfather was in 5th NH infantry, who were stationed in the northern virginia area she "loved" so well (more like "I hate the fucken South", spoken like a TRUE Yankee); note of interest, my uncle John Bull Blodgett deserted from fredericksburg, virginny (where Link Wray wrote "rumble") 140th NY, whom were stationed with great-grandpa Leighton, 5th NH..."there ARE no coincidences"-George Noory!"....

Mark Darling Giroux and i descend from nathaniel whiting (also ancestor of edie sedgewick!) buried in ye olde Dedham, mass. cemetery on land donated by Johnny Jumper Cables's ancestor! a trip to Dedham IS in order (again, haven't visited/researched in a while)...

Friday May 22, 2015

I had "too much to insect surf last night", so "I aint got nuthin' LEFT" ("Money"!) to catch Blues Magoos at johnny D's, though Eli Polansky, WMBR, lost and found, tuesday, told me they still "brought it" and lissen to his show, he plays all the "good stuff". so amongst my ten hour slumber George Noory and Coast to Coast AM talkin' 'bout flat earth maps (Flat Earth Society?) and how the ORIGINAL inhabitants of earth are now living underground...again, a dream or do i check out their Facebook page?

lastly, readin' Norman Mailer and he's at a "cocktail party" with Robert Lowell, who seems to be Yankee/Brahmin/everything me and my cuzzin Mark Darling Giroux aspire to be! He and I as Mission HillBillies drinking OUR cocktails (more like a case of BUDWEISER!) conversing on how the WASP is/was indeed becoming distinct and of course our blue-blood Yankee ancestors (this was also a wet-brain white-trash delusion and THIS parentheses c/o Norman Mailer's writing! note to self to read more of him! and i never yet cracked a Bukowski book (ate the 99-cent burgers in inman square though!), though Alpo (RIP) was a big fan/reader of ole Chuck Bukowski"......

Robert Lowell
Robert Lowell

researching Robert Lowell, poet, wikipedia; impressive Brahmin ancestry, historically-based poems on Massachusetts history, three wives, a stint in MacLean's, picture of him at Grolier's (still there, so far!) and he died a month after afrika korps live at cantone's! his jonathon edwards line = my great-great grandmother Highland had a Spencer line, that Hartford Ct. founder died 1640, his ancestor married into the Jonathan Edwards family, so maybe the dude that sang "sunshine" is a step-cuzzin? either way, Robert Lowell's poetry, i would appreciate!"....

here's one for BLOWFISH from youtube: Ben Orr in Ohio SURF INSTRUMENTAL 45 as The Grasshoppers with "The Wasp"; has that "cycle annie" slightly out-of-tune twang and reverb! I also dig the freakbeat-Mod "Mod Socks" which is "Short Shorts" down by the MC5 "one of the guys" impersonating the Who! then the Count reviewed the Milkwood album and "it really is Crosby stills nash and Orr" and I DID buy the 45s off first album, but Ben Orr on rhythm guitar, man...well, we all got our O. Rex beginnings!"...

Saturday May 23, 2015

ten hour work day but got Jimi Hendrix turns 80 from Blowfish memorial library. 9 pm tooned into WRCA 1330 AM and country oldies ("like us on facebook"!) openin' with "workin' man blues" by merle haggard; "I aint never been on welfare/and dont care if I do/i gotta keep on workin""..."a job, a novel concept" said my cuzzin mark Giroux (RIP). other great shitkicking country (tune in at 0500 after coast to coast!) was cowboy cops "alabam", there was a spotlight on Sonny James and there was also, in it's entirety, flatts and scruggs doin' what's known as "bonnie and clyde theme"...blastin' outta my battery lil radio, like I's in Coal Miner's Daughter! (Levon Helm's di-rect ancestor from germany buried in winchester Virginny!).

10 pm is friday night nostalgia, tonight, a 1943 drama, evil russkies kill somebody inspecting their gulag, comes back to haunt him, i fell asleep but it WAS great! surface noise on that radio yesteryear album, i'd reckon. "me-n-my uncle" (Grateful Dead!) Howard Spencer Blodgett (also my cuzzin!) usedta talk with me 'bout old radio shows from before i was borned; after a while he had me believing i was from his era! (I am! it WAS a better world then, we defeated the Axis etc.). Ma's got two sisters that remember 1943 clear as day and since ma moved "down the road' at age 11 (1942), it was the '30s that she rode about on her tricycle talkin' to her imaginary friend Kenneth Edwards that lived under the stoop! "well, kenneth, it was all in my mind"; coz they didn't have TV to rot yer mind! Ken to Gee Julie last night durin' friday night nostalgia: "aint this better'n tv?!" she agreed that's why Gee Julie is "good people" after she cooks "breakfast, dinner and supper";bring back the auld ways, "i'm a 20th century man and i dont wanna be here"! (Kinks lp c/o a Tiverton RI Taber descendant and reviewed in rolling stone by metal mike saunders!"....

Sunday May 24, 2015

Electric Flag dunno why, had a hankerin' fer Electric Flag and goddam; Mike Bloomfield could damn sure play the blues and Buddy Miles damn sure sang with soul! both are RIP and i shant never fergit 14 feb 88 Rat, Johnny and Jumper Cables coverin' "Texas"! not that Johnny and I are Bloomer and Buddy, though I at least= his weight...WEEI had NBA playoff, Warriors won; kinda followin' even if Celtics shit the bed (sports talk for KEN KAISER!!!) oh yeah! I'm THREATENING to record a new Korps album at the studio of the drummer of Fighting Cocks, whose singer was Jamie Jetson; and Mike Quirk heard it here first! "Ken Highland's records never sold/but when he died they all turnt gold", except that "million-selling" first Gizmos...

lastly, cant fergit Coast to Coast (OR buying double A batteries from CVS; solar power man!): general smedley butler said in the fucken '30s "war's a racket" (and "chesty puller got on the bus");vets were callin' in AGREEING, George Bush (my cuzzin actually) leadin' us into fake wars....no shit, been goin' for centuries, learn your fucken history and "fuck yer fucken superman"...as is, i believe they got Prescott Bush, father of, "dealing with the enemy" or some "Lady double-dealer" type of conspiracy whatever...well, i was entertained til batteries died! like my mother ALWAYS said "Kenneth, I'd not to think that your father died for nothing" (she doesn't drop her g's) so Amerika First/"fightin' side o' me"-merle HIGHLAND and happy memorial day remember what the fuck it's aboot! shit, in 30 years i'll be a cranky ole Taz"....
