The Dazies have a new video for their song “Misery”. The song is from a new split EP with The Courters called Seen a Ghost. The video has a paranoid guy in a tin foil hat running in fear. The song is about feeling on the outside of things and living in misery. The recording is led by the bright guitar sound. If you haven’t heard The Dazies, this is a good introduction. It can be ordered on Bandcamp

Another video showing lots of creativity is by Mick Lawless and the Reckless Hearts. John Keegan reviewed their show in Holliston last week. The viddy is of their song “Dead on the Vine”.

The drummer for the Rockin Bob Punk Band has quit. Their February shows have been cancelled. They'll use Bob Hatfield aka Bob Furapples from the FUs for their Midway Cafe afternoon show on 3/10.

From NJArt.net- The Smithereens always seemed like a hard-working club band. Following the death of frontman Pat DiNizio in December, surviving members got together, Jan. 13, for one more show in that vein at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, filling the venue with loud, celebratory sound, well past midnight. "On stage, with members of The Smithereens were Lenny Kaye, Marshal Crenshaw Little Steven Van Zandt , Dave Davis, Robin Wilson (Gin Blossoms), and Richard Barone. The set list and plenty of videos here.

This Friday there will be a show that is a record release party and the last show for the group. It’s not the first time it’s happened, but it’s never good. In this case, it’s Casanovas In Heat from Lowell. They were a young group that knew their punk history and had a Husker Du style attack. We’re sorry to see them go but happy to get the recorded material. It's at UnchARTed in Lowell (FB page)

Bob Dubrow who does Lost & Found on WMBR has put a two hour special show plus his interview with Richard Lloyd up on Mixcloud. You can listen here.

Please Kill Me has a conversation with The Kinks Drummer Mick Avery.

This week John Keegan caught Gary Mondello and Vikki Porter doing a duet thang at Tavern at the End of the World. Mondello had set up backing track arrangements on his iPhone. The keys and drum tracks highlighted the Gary Numan, OMD synth side of the tunes. Vikki added the human bass and backup vocals. Porter took center stage for a few of her own tunes. They were more straightforward with some punchy vocal repeat riffs. Nice contrast.
