…This Friday, July 22nd @ Dee Dee's Lounge (Quincy, MA) will be DRAGO, The Dimwits, Nobodys Heroes, The Leftovers (Maine), Y69(Vermont) 9:00pm Cost: ONLY $5 - 21+ , also this Friday and next Monday… ROCK & ROLL ARTISTS GET HANGED IN CAMBRIDGE AND MAKE AN EXHIBITION OF THEMSELVES IN A TWO-GALLERY EXTRAVAGANZA WHERE: The Gallery of Club Passim and The Zeitgeist Gallery WHEN: "HUNG" hangs at the gallery of Club Passim from July 4 - September 24 with an opening reception on Monday, July 25AT 4PM. "HANGED" is hanging from July 19 - August 1 at The Zeitgeist Gallery with an opening reception on Saturday, July 23. Hanging at the gallery of Club Passim Gallery and The Zeitgeist Gallery beginning in July in two group exhibitions called, respectively, "HUNG" and "HANGED" is artwork by a collection of artists who share one thing in common above all else. They totally rock. One way or another. The show includes work by Jayne County Dee Dee Ramone, John Holmstrom, Niagara, Arturo Vega, Jon Langford, Jad and David Fair, Godlis, and Knox…as well as John Nokolai and Jon Strymish…so this should be two awesome shows and opening receptions. As a matter of fact on the Monday, July 25th at Passim's Unnatural Axe play at the reception on July 25 and Arturo Vega (the Ramones' artistic director) and legendary rock photographer Godlis (www.Godlis.com) will each give a talk and answer questions, so see ya there!! ......And WOW we have gotten a lot of response to the tiny blurb in last week's news about the Bunratty's reunion!!! Looks like it'll be: Sunday, November 6, 2005, tentatively scheduled at the Paradise, 2 - 8 PM. So, knock yourself out folks, here's a site to go to for more info: http://www.bunrattys.com/ .......and now for another history lesson: here's a most awesome site to go to regarding another important slice of Boston Alternative/punk history: JEFF & JANE Hudson.com ......many of you out there reading this MUST remember Jeff and Jane Hudson and The Rentals with the super cool Psuedo Carol and her classic, plastic fried egg. I was at their show at the Harvard Sq theatre when they opened for the Clash…those brit boys acted like assholes that night but the Rentals were GREAT(as was Bo Diddly)!!!!!!!!! Jeff and Jane are still doing music and even releasing new versions of some of their old stuff..there's cool photos and info……so check 'em out!!!........Also another reminder that the Scene of the Crime THREE will be getting recorded soon….bands on the previous Scene of The Crime CD's have been the likes of The Jabbers, Darkbuster, Downbeat 5, The Queers (aka Black Fag), Partyfight, Meat Depressed, The Dents, The Jonee Earthquake Band, Los Filthy's, Midnight Creeps, The Marvels, The Pug Uglies, Rat Fink, The Gobshites and I KNOW if you got a band ya wanna be included in with those names so if you have any questions or you're interested in submitting your music for consideration on this very excellent project, please send a demo to Peter Walsh - C/O Good Cop/Bad Cop Records - PO BOX 653 - Foxboro, MA 02035 USA…and by the way, if you wanna purchase the previous SOTC cd's you can go to: Good Cop Bad Cop Records......Here's some good shows comin' up: Saturday July 30th: it's Holy Hell Hoedown night at The Lucky Dog Music Hall, 89 Green Street, Worcester MA, and from this EARLY time: 5pm on there will be The Gobshites, Sasquatch and the Sick-A-Billys, SPF4, and more. Chili cookoff and BBQ! 21+....then here's a great show worthy of going out on a Sunday night, July 31st : Red Invasion, Shanghai Valentine, Riot A-Go-Go, and Birth Rites…at The Paradise in Boston, front room, and , as the bands are saying; it's an 18+ show, sorry!....Thursday August 4th: - play at Dee Dee's Lounge, 297 Newport Ave.,Quincy MA @ 9pm 21+ $5 - there's The Gobshites, Salacious Crumb, Swaggerin' Growlers and Flatfoot56 (from Chicago).... Hey HEY! The Midnight Creeps with a buncha other bands are out in Worcester on Saturday, August 6th it's EARLY, at 6:00pm @ QVCC-Quinsigamond Village Community Center (at 16 greenwood st. in Worcester, Ma.) CHEAP show for a bunch of great bands!! 5 bucks - AND it's All Ages!!!!….and for a worthy cause, Sunday Aug. 7 at 8 pm, there's a Benefit for IMA Rock 'n Roll Camp for Girls at The Milky Way Lounge, 403 Center St Jamaica Plain 617-524-3740, $10 cover (all proceeds to go to the camp's scholarship fund) bands will be : Emergency Music, The Graduals, The Snowleopards, Guillermo Sexo and The Vibration,,,,,9pm Thursday August 11th: at The Middle East Upstairs, 472 Mass.
