July 24, 2005

this Monday, July 25 from 6PM is the Opening Reception for "HUNG" at the gallery of Club Passim the show actually runs until September 24.....this'll be a cool opening with Unnatural axe will be playing, legendary rock photographer Godlis and the Ramones' artistic director, Arturo Vega speaking and doing a question and answer thing AND they pull Cynthia PlasterCaster's cast of Jimi Hendrix's schlong for us all to see!!! So just HOW big do ya think it is???? Go to Passims' to see!!! and don't forget that "HANGED" is at The Zeitgeist Gallery until August 1 and in case you haven't read it all before: "HUNG" and "HANGED" is artwork by a collection of artists who share one thing in common above all else. They totally rock. One way or another. The show includes work by Jayne County Dee Dee Ramone,John Holmstrom, Niagara, Arturo Vega, Jon Langford, Jad and David Fair, Godlis, and Knox…as well as John Nokolai and Jon Strymish…so I went to The Opening at The Zeitgeist and I have to say the paper cutouts by Jad and David Fair(Half Japanese) are really pretty damned amazing...and presented really well too! I was also pleasantly surprised by the piece by Niagra, a small, neat and clean, Warhol-Lichtenstein inspired collage. And, personally, Bunni's photos were my absolute faves...detached black & whites that do not leave you cold. All the stuff was really great and you can see it and even more at Passim's....an awesome round up of rock'n'roll stuff! now what's up?? here's what I got: this Saturday July 30th: it's Holy Hell Hoedown night at The Lucky Dog Music Hall, 89 Green Street, Worcester MA, and from this EARLY time: 5pm on there will be he Gobshites<, Sasquatch and the Sick-A-Billys, SPF4, and more.
