Mad Painter goes on at Jungle at four pm; special guest wuz Cortes whom plays bass in Gee Julie cuzzin deep purple tribute band stormbringer. alex gitlin vocals and keyboard, me on larry graham thumb bass, schmel herbie hind on guitar, al hendry-drums and on vocals; sharon needlez crumrine and gee julie pinz, both tambourine. miss lyn caught several toons, covers of uriah heep circle of hands and stealin....

ext was Tom Springer band, nice guys. My notes say "Americana", Schmel Herbie Hind sez: "dis is "smart rock", like Lambie Boys band". Wild Stares drummer: "I'm attracted to wierdos"; good band, The Wierdos! (on Bomp?). Lastly wuz da Molly Maguires, whom gave away a free cd wid Niel Young's "Cortez da killer". only singer/acoustic and bass duo, Tom Petty's "Breakdown" wuz a great singalong but check DIS on youtube: "Mercy Brown will have her revenge on New England". da vid iz in a VERY familar lookin' Rhode Highland graveyard and through her mutual Hull ancestry iz cuzzinship to Slickee Boy Martha/Gizmo Kenne Highland and Milling Gowns keyboardist! (Dead people facts!) All dis and Fiddy-three dollars more!"..

The light/sunglasses after dark/vintage videos on a screen like Sir Reginald KENNETH and Kiki Dee...I wuz even in a conga line! (COULDNT resist!)....then it wuz to Vera's for DJ Panda and '90s night, a lotta hip-hop...we left Captain Cocktail in a chair after "Back dat azz up" by Juvenile! (it's on youtube! released 11 June 99; same year I released Gemini on a full moon on Dino; I shoulda rapped out on "scorpio queen"! ("sometyme da hunter/git capture by da game/ she's so sweet/ caught me in her sugah cane"....I can see Jay Gruberger and Kim Kane, Afrika Boys/Slickee Korps singin' da count's "dere iz nuthin' like a hit"".

Scottish stereotypes that are Sir Walter Scott meets Trainspotting: a reference to to the Border Reivers (DNA matches!) plus: they're always arguing aboot money! BUT the absolute charachter is Uncle Kenny BURNS, eating almonds coz "good for givin' the wee lad a go up"; he makes another refrence to "the wee lad" BUT as Schmel Herbie Hind WOULD know, he not talks about his moddafockin' ballz but KENNY burns IZ da moddafock' ballz! AND Scottish!

Captain shot a vid of me singing James Brown's "please please please";(it's on my Facebook page) if I'm Gonged PLEASE have JP Morgan flash me 'er Bristols! By then, joined by Sharon "Needlez" Crumrine of Milling Gown; captain said some dude wuz singin' da Cure "if only i wuz sure dat my head on the door wuz a dream" and Needlez sez "he sounds just like dat singer" (that's Robert Smitth to you!). heard "piece of my heart", Michael Jackson doppelganger did "Off da wall", Ike and Tina "Proud Mary"...it wuz somebody's birthday too...last, like da Abba party, we wuz up and dancin' to Prince's "Kiss"...next week COULD da Crow Follow us?'

day of Thor 2 may 2024. high energy vintage space/exoitca with a SOBER captain cocktail, whom sang "wasted away again in margaritaville" at da people's karaoke whilst doing same. Rich Wentworth of The Bald Guys (Dionysius records) wuz da dj and dose high energy vintage kidz were dressed ABSOULTELY Fabulous. Spun: muzak versions of "Ode to Billy Joe"/"sunshine superman"/"na na na na hey hey"/"hang on sloppy"....I usedta see these records in Brockport NY bargain bins fiddy years ago! The Captain and I duscussed RECORDS (who needs chix, mun) and my notes say: sergio mendes/BRASIL! '66 version of "wid a little help from my friends" ("Blame it on the bossa nova"!), "Needles and Pinz", fuzztone maybe Ventures instruMENTAL version/captain sez: "perfect theme for me. I stay dry with a little help from my friends!"/"No lounge night is complete without a musaky version of burt bacharach's 'always somethin' there to remind me"/ "and "do you know the way to San Jose"(the Count Five did!)....by ten pm "I'm only sleepin'" but not before Venturesesque fuzz guitar on "Tequila" and "Happenings ten years tyme ago" and one still-sober Captain easychord afloat!"
