"Every day is a Saturday Ides of May. As I clomped down the stairs of Lowell Street studios, I was greeted by William Spence Alexander/John Keegan/ Larry Newman and I rode in with drummer Al Hendry. This quintet proceeded with a John Lee Hooker arrangement on Stooges "Down on the street": me/chair/guitar/vocals, WA keyboards, keegan-sax, Lt larry Newman USMC-bass and Al Henry-drums.

Followed by "I Need a Bromo Geets Romo" which is the history of me and Chris Brood's Svengali done to a I-IV riff in A-nineth ala "Season of the witch'. Comments: "Kenne you sound like Howlin' Wolf on guitar"-larry, "Kenne you sing like Greg Prevost"-WA. Other WA witticisms :"this sounds like Sun RA"! (hmmm....MC5 do Sun ra cover on Kick out the jams; Mr. Peanut Butter cover sounding like same! Hey the Asheton Bros covered "Best Friend"; returning favour!) ALso (WA): "you're now signed to ESP!"..."will the circle remain unbroken"? April '74, Future Gizmo Eddie Flowers felt O. rex sounded like the Godz on ESP! WA's triple Crown was a spoken-word piece on Asa Brebner: "willie, I want to back you up on some keroauc type poetry when Zoots Sims played horn"..."hey beat mon/him like Kerouac!". We also had Patsy Budgen/Corolla DeVille in attendance but I'll save Future/Plans right now for later. Did my Black oak Arkansas version of Byrds "Mr Spaceman" with my Jim dandy voice and three Wilkie Southern Rock Giztars. lastly, Captain Easychord and Schmel Herbie Hind did embelishments on the LIVE recorded quinted. captain hit bass notes freeing Willie to sound like Mick garson on A Lad Insane and Schmel Herbie Hind had a GREAT fuzz sound being Jeff Beck-cum-Billy Loosigian. Good stuff all around everybody had fun, "Does anyone remember Covid?" (paraphrasing percy in "does anyone remember laughter?")".....

"Sonntag 16 may 21. As gee Julie recorded vocals with Alex Gitlin for the mad painter cd, I popped into Somerville Grooves and saw....Mitch from Triple Thick! (one of two purchases,I THINk was an Ian Drury album)…"hey Triple Thick's getting together"....Me: "it's in the BGN!" Grooves open full tyme after memorial Day and as our editor (jack Kerouac's cuzzin!) said "you and Mitch! you keep him afloat"; Toast a Tumeric Tea to that! KENNEway, the ghost of Billy Ruane, whom booked me unplugged the night the middle east opened, looked to the left and said "In store concerts!" (what is this? Store 55?) (54 plus one)...(What Kenne is trying to say is Somerville Grooves guy suggested a accoustic gig of kenne and MItch-ed) hey! I got folks to invade the Tavern at the end of the World! I reported to my commanding office, Lt. Larry Newman USMC that I had indeed gone "snoopin' and poopin" commando mission (acutally I WAS wearin' skivvies!) and "I have two battery powered amps and Al Hendry on drums"...so if the kenne Highland experience starts blasting Blue Cheer and Grand Funk covers in the middle of Union Square Somerville mass...that's only the PRELUDE for Armageddon and the alien invasion! Total Destruction to your Mind!"....

"Monntag 17 may 21. From Cindy Budgen, Corilla DeVille and North Shore Groupie News. "I meant to tell you Alpo (Real Kids) visited me in a dream about two weeks ago! Came up to my car window, he was his charming flirty self, young and Brian Jonesy hair, I'll remember his smile forever!". An omen that we'll be recording beatles songs UP to revolver Real Kids style (on Dino!) known as The SurReal Kids...how to make "There's a Place" ("Twist and Shout") sound like a red Star album outake!"....

"Simon Ritt and "Darlin'" (listen her to on Sirius radio!) Jan Collins wanted to give him something before we did some filming which we never got around to up in Gloucester"...Rachel IS doing video now, wants to do a Kenne vid AND Lt Larry Newman USMC WAS somehow in WA's "Bass Rocks" video....slow day in boston music when the only news is Kenne loco!"....

He was coming from the Greek Consulate on beacon Street, right down the way from my beloved Goethe Institute. hasn't been on WHRB since march last but returning "soon" and STILL collecting...RECORDS! A business trip took him to Columbus Ohio and at store clerk said "I was in a band there once; the Cheater slicks". Dinos: "I have one of your records!". Tommy re-introduced himself when Gizmos played Columbus Halloween 2015 (?) BUT he have me and my cuzzin linda Garreau a ride from landsdowne Street about '96 (?); Cramps/Flat Duo Jets (?) great guy! Dinos too!"....
