Sonntag 9 june 2024. a very international day in cambridge.

Ken and Gee Julie brunch at Brazilian Bom Dough, see sign for "Parisian street fair." walk half a mile with Miss Lyn to Elmendorf Baking Supplies in east cambridge where it was all happenin'. There was a baguette and miche/boule competition and Besides clothing stalls and the French library, there was a guitar/violin/upright bass trio playing gypsy jazz/stephan grapelli/ paris 100 years ago maybe.

Walking back past the Protuguese church caught the ALWAYS great Saint Antonio parade wid folk dancing from Azores, brass marching band and the priests. lastly, ken and Gee Julie had supper in Brasil at Mu Queca! Lovely weather/perfect day!

saturday 8 june 2024. TeleExittos tv 6-8 pm movie: Como Perros y gatos. A Mexican 1969 comedy that echoes Americano beach movies. wikipedia has plot en espanol: boy/girl parents marry, thus they step-siblings fight like Perro/gato, then fall in amour, i think. only caught last 15 minutes but!: maybe i caught "Palabbra magica" por Enrique Guzman , de su album "Hoy" ano 1968. Holy space age/exotic at vera's first thursday of da month c/o high energy vintage! My bad, though, what i wanna mention i saw wuz Angelica maria backed up by some squaresville band wearing suits and short hair (in 1968,mannn...i wuz listening to janis/jimi and cream,man.....) and she sang a toon with melody of engelbert humperdinck "man without love"....Ich liebe der schlagers und der kino! (und der nacht life und der boogie!)

DAY OF WODIN! 12 june 2024. as the stones sang "My obsession" is....Angelica Maria doin' "quando me anamoro"! Being a RECORD COLLECTOR, I googled her in discogs: 260 releases and i never heard of her til the saturday movie! She started in 1962 doing twist records in Mexico, so think Anette Funicello,kinda..."Cuando Me Enamoro" is on a 1968 e.p. going for $8.51 US on discogs; picture sleeve she wears a bouffant and mini-dress and looks '60s....oh wait! this IS a '60s record! its on youtube plus she duets WITH Engelbert Humperdinck on youtube; did MORE research and engelbert released "Man without love" may 1968 (MAI FOOLS!) which, though I still kinda listened to AM radio, I'd already seen the Blue Cheer on tv and the Airplane was on cover of LIFE June '68 maybe....Now if only the blue cheer had covered engelbert humperdinck,man....(Tommy Chong played guitar in Bobby taylor and the vancouvers but later made it in comedy; my musical career's a joke, I should make like that Fanny song "changin' horses in midstream!

Besides all da udder greats, I MUST mention Sister Rosetta Tharpe and her spectacular lead guitar playing! Sez she wiz a influence on Chuck Berry, SO imagine doin' T-Bone walker lix in church! I DO recommend this whole great series!
