He does this monthly, b-movies of a "Lazy Sunday Afternoon". the whole she-bang started with a merrie melody cartoon about rats that wouldnt eat cheese and a cat that wouldnt eat mice. next was Bela Lugosi in The PhantomCreeps 7 Jan 39, right months before WWII wid bela lugosi; mad scientist and you will LOVE the robot! Next up a Droopy Dog cartoon then Bela Lugosi in The Devil Bat. 13 dec 40 and you gotta see this bat on steroids! got out past three and wandered to somerville flea by four pm, speakin' to Wylie of high energy vintage who gave me "what'd you see?", then "TWO classics!!" after i perused his vinyl, which i had perused day of THOR Bow market. Yet another, still in da paper bag Somerville Grooves 2020 lockdown purchase: country Joe and the Gefilte Fish Together album release July 1968; had read about dem previous month in Life magazine, Airplane on cover. SO maybe I didnt actually hear 'em til summer 1970, "rock and soul music" the woodstock album but NEVER til this millennium did i hear the studio version AND there was a 45 from 1968 of "rock and soul music" parts one and two, FURTHER proving their inspiration from....James Brown!!! Since James cain't sue me, I DID steal the bass line of said Fish song for Howl of the She Wolf! "rock and soul music" opens side one, side one closer is "streets of your town" sang by my distsnt Hull cuzzin Martha Hull on slickee boys seperated vegtables; slickees were big Fish fans, mannn....("The Hippy Boys"?. I also lent the drummer my black leather jacket that i wore in rock scene for O. Rex; opposite page wuz my sixth cuzzins (twice) Merle and Kevin Allin in Malpractrice....how the Kerouac did i segue from Country Joe to Country GG? TWO cups of coffee! seein' Sal Paradise by the dashboard light! dat oregano in my Meat Loaf wuz...."marijuana.....exhbit A"

Wednesday, August 28, 2024 Dienstag 27 august 2024. goin' through a bag of 45s I got at vinyl index when there were 40 vintage Bow market dealers, I have The O'Jay's "backstabbers" b/w "992 arguements". This one dollar 45 is one of those double A-side oldies. I LOVED "Backstabbers" when it wuz released august '72 (Labour day first heard Kick out da jamz). eddie Levert's voice is powerful and check this: "they smile in your face/all the tyme they wanna take your place/ everybody's a lyre (a lyre!)"....hmmm..."My sweet Lord is So Fine"! reached #3 Amerika, first charts; "992 arguements" (with ghosts?) only hot57,but "love train" got THAT train back on the hit track! last but not least about this tyme Sir Reginald KENNETH Dwight wuz ravin' 'bout arranger Thom Bell and that "philadelphia freedom" sound, so i started checking the soul charts....either way a buck well spent!"

Friday, August 30, 2024 day of Thor 29 august 2024. Mad Painter live at BevCam, local cable up Beverly. played/interview (wot da fock i been doin' for 50 years? "is the new album good?" "Hell yeah i'm on it!";Humble! eatin' Pie for dessert, alles else canst esen scheiss und tort). Drummer Al Hendry played like a Don Brewer locomotive, I channeled Mel Schachter licks, Schmel Herbie Hind kept jammin' on Sabbath toons, Alex Gitlin wuz Jon Lord on steroids...."My Head's in '71!"...AND as Leon Rich said "the icing on the gate" wuz Sharon Needlez and Julie Pinz wearin' glitter dresses, shakin' tambourines and doin' Motown choreograph moves. My also dream on youtube is GINGER BAKER's Air Force doin' "sunshine of your love", two ladies singin'...after a year or so, dese ladies got it! Host knew Joe Vig from Visual Radio, nice guy and my orange outift wuz carried in in a BGN bag! watch for youtubee-age!
