Montag 23 sept 2024. Lissenin' to a bag of Stereo Jack's 78s. Tonight is: "oklahoma bound" b/w "Jim's Polka" by Bill Boyd and his cowboy ramblers, a one dollar rca victor from 1946! (my father was 12, same age as me in '68 wid Blue Cheer). Stereo Jack's owner knew naught of Bill Boyd, as did I, but I hit paydirt on what coulda been a scratch ticket! (waste of money). Bill and Bob Wills were late '40s western swing conteporaries, but Bill, obviously more Hopelessly Obscure, since Hillbilly at Harvard WILL play Bob Wills. as a b-side wonk, "Jim's Polka" is my favourite; up-beat instrumental that I know all the words to and woulda made for gud jivin' at the Jim-10!

Both toons up-beat kinda Hank Williams crossin' jazz wid country; e.g. "hey good lookin'". lyrics: "i'm writing a letter to heaven" ist mein schatzche ist tort; what do we do now? Text?!?!?! instant message! Skype? "vacant heart" iz "my baby dun left me",so sign on "radio heart" sez "vacancy"..clever lyrics with vacancy sign idioms! Another one dollar scratch ticket on a scratchy 78 "Winner by elimination"!
