the show they are the only act that night and they are playing a 55 minute set
starting at 9 PM they will be screening some 80's music videos (Soft Cell, Kraftwerk,
etc.) around the set. This show is celebrating the 30 year anniversary of their
album Flesh so they are doing 11 songs from that release as well as two
new numbers recently released on Electric Voice Records out of Halifax. Check
out their site: Jeff and Jane
it has all their info and links to everything!! So you can catch Jeff and Jane
and still make it over to Church or Radio or any place you like!!. Tickets are
on sale at Brown Paper
Ticket too....
Over at Radio in Union Sq Somerville there's the 1st show of an ongoing
acoustic, Nashville style, "in the round" series. The idea is that songwriters
from various musical genres will rotate all evening, performing 3-song mini
sets in solo, duo or trio format. This will take place at the happening new
Moe's Lounge in the cozy downstairs room . Songwriters performing on
the 10th will be-Tad Overbaugh w/ Bruce Freisinger (Tad Overbaugh & The
Late Arrivals), Tom Baker w/Evan Shore (The Dirty Truckers, Muck & The
Mires), John Powhida (John Powhida International Airport, The Rudds)
, Jay Allen (Jay Allen & The Archcriminals) and Scott Ricciuti
(Scott Ricciuti & Pistol Whipped, Huck)
The of course the show we've all been
waiting for at Church there's Lyres, Nervous Eaters, Satin Kittens
and Port Charles Quintet with Boston's best drummer Dennis McCarthy coming
up from Pittsburgh for the show!!- I believe it will be the last PCQ show...and
that's Kim Ackland's birthday weekend so wish her an excellent one!!
And then its St Patty's day weekend...a Saturday no less! So there's
lots to do
Friday the 16th at Radio is a good show with one of our fave bands The

to win a pair of tickets to the Cock Sparrer show on May 19th. We will

night. And as a special added attraction Frank Rowe will be doing one
of his solo acoustic sets to start the evening.
And on Monday April 17th Bad Brains are at The Paradise…they
have a new album out and are touring to promote it...
And people here's an event you must go to....BC60....Boston's
most devoted scenester Bob Colby celebrates his 60th birthday at TT's
on Sunday August 12th...so mark your calendars now for this very special event
we should All be there to celebrate Bob...beside the list of bands performing
is just crazy!!! Sheperdess, Classic Ruins, The Downbeat 5, Do Not Forsake
Me Oh My Darling, Mary Lou Lord, Nina Violet, Kenne Highland, Moose & The Mudbugs...and
lots lots more!!! And really I think if the Real Kids are ever going to perform
it should be at this event!!
Don't forget about the Kickstarter Project starting this Saturday on March 10th for the club called The Icepick. an historical PUNK club in Muskegon, MI that's been around for over 25 years...think The Rat , CBGB's all the
other awesome places we've lost over time that were like home to us all.
Well the owner is planning on selling the place and the punks want to keep it
going ( an honorable choice!) so they are starting a
Kickstart
Project on March 10th to get up the money to buy The Icepick at a
special price and keep it going as a Punk Rock venue...if you love punk and
honor all its memories...you maybe will think of going to the page and donating
some dough for this good cause. We here at the BGN wish them all the luck in
the world on this project!!!
