Chandler Travis brought his crazy ass new orleans pajama dance party Philharmonic to the always welcoming Midway last Sunday afternoon. From folk, to cartoon to second line to Sun Ra these cats have the chops to please mind, body, soul ad soles. They'll be back at the Midway on Easter Sunday. Shake off the lamb and ham.

The Niki Luparelli Band paid an end of February visit to the intimate room at Nick's in Worcester to pay homage to the Bowiedextarian. Niki is a force of nature. She and most of the band have been doing Bowie since way before the Black Star took him. Dan Burke on piano, drums, bass, guitar, sax and two talented back up singers covered the sweet, Word on a Wing, the cabaret - the under appreciated Absolute Beginners, the kick ass, Rebel Rebel, Jean Genie, Modern Love, I'm Afraid of Americans and the boogie, Fame and Let's Dance. Two sets. Thirty tunes. Check 'em out next time they come to your neighborhood.
