The Burren was packed when I arrived late after a birthday celebration with the family at Barcelona on Mass Ave outside of Porter Square. I dug a couple of outliers on the tapas menu - patatas brava, chorizo with sweet and sour figs, and a crisp, Valencian gin cocktail. All this celebrating caused me to miss Muck and all but the last two hard-rocking numbers by The Chelsea Curve.

All three bands come from garage and punk counties with a river of mod connecting their outposts. The Burren Back Room has a palpable energy pulsing through it.

The Len Price 3 (which one is Len? bah bump) waste no time and grab the live wire. They give back to the crowd as much as they take.

The tunes are snappy with snotty, 8 bar guitar solos by singer Glenn Page. Steve Huggins was a danger to the teeth in the front row with his literally well-swung bass. Neil Fromow pushed and pulled everyone around with his quick fills, and martial, rat ta tat tat drums.

The size of the crowd allowed the Burren to shit can most of the tables. This gives the crowd room to shake their booties. Most don't hesitate. The night was close, sweaty and full of British invasion redux kick-ass rock n roll.

The band had had only three well-received prior hit and run US shows. This three date mini-tour certainly convinced Len Price 3 that the Yanks will come out to see them. The band is already in talks with Bootleg Dan Presents to do a longer run in 2024. Keep your ears open.
